I have an undergraduate degree in cultural studies, and then I went on to earn my masters degree in English. As a graduate student, I had the opportunity to teach college-level English 101. In addition to my teaching experience, I was also trained as a teacher, so I understand teaching methodologies and learning styles. The best part of being a teacher is the individualized attention I can give students during my office hours, because then I can really focus on the needs of the student and help them work through their questions. I'm invested in the success of each of my students, I want to help students develop their own motivation to learn and find success academically. In addition to English, I can help students prepare for the ACT, SAT, GRE, and other exams. When I have some spare time, I like to draw and paint or practice the fiddle and guitar.
