I've been tutoring since 2002. I have experience working with children as young as 6 all the way up to HS seniors helping them with their college essays. I have experience in both SAT and ACT strategies (although where I'm located ACT tends to be the popular test). I am a passionate tutor who brings energy, encouragement, and empowerment to the student, while trying to reduce the student's anxiety and finding the path to their "a-ha!" moment. I find that this combination allows the student the opportunity to really "learn" and feel good about themselves throughout the process. I find that tutoring is more than just learning the material for the next test. It can be about relating with the student, trying to make a dry subject a little less dry and providing confidence and a little entertainment to really make the material stick.
